Summer Hours

Our schools and offices have shortened hours during the summer months. Schedules may vary so we encourage calling before visiting.

All buildings will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in observance of Juneteenth and Thursday, July 4, 2024 in observance of Independence Day.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
Elementary school offices will be open to the public, Monday - Friday:

  • 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. June 10 - June 30
  • Closed to the public during the month of July
  • 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. August 1 - August 30

MIDDLE SCHOOLS
Middle school offices will be open to the public, Monday - Friday:

  •  8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. June 10 - June 30 
  •  Closed to the public during the month of July
  •  8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. August 1 - August 30

HIGH SCHOOLS
High school offices will be open to the public, Monday - Friday:

  • 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. from June 10 - June 30
  • 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. during the month of July
  • 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. from August 1 - August 30

MORGAN BUILDING 
Appleton Central will be open to the public:

  • 7:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday and 7:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Fridays, June 10 - June 30 and August 1 - August 30. Appleton Central will be closed to the public during the month of July.
  • Technology Services, Attendance and Enrollment, and Central Media Departments – will be open to the public from 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 7:00 a.m. – noon. on Fridays starting June 10 - August 30.

LEADERSHIP CENTER

The Office of the Superintendent, School Services, Special Education, Student Services, Human Resources, Business Services, and Assessment, Curriculum and Instruction will be open to the public from 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (Monday–Thursday) and 7:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. (Fridays) starting June 10 - August 30.

FACILITIES AND OPERATIONS 
The Facilities & Operations office will be open to the public from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.

WELCOME CENTER

Appleton Community 4K / Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Dept. / Family & Community Engagement will be open to the public from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 7:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Fridays starting June 10 - August 30.

Enrollment Services will be open to the public from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Fridays starting June 10 - August 30.

The month of July brings warmer weather, summer vacations, and registration information. Read more about student registration, completion of the Meal Benefits Application, payment of fees, and information regarding immunizations below.

Online Registration

Online registration for all Appleton Area School District families is now open. Registration information can be found on the district website. Prompt registration allows us to properly schedule buses, assign teachers, and provide any other services that might be necessary. Early registration allows us to provide the individual and personal attention your children deserve.

When logging on to the Infinite Campus Portal to complete the registration for your child/ren, please select "More" on the left panel, then "Online Registration" at the very bottom of the center panel. You will complete one registration for your entire household. Confirm all your students are listed and marked as included on your application when you begin. You will be directed from screen to screen as you review and update your household/contact, and student-related information. A red *indicates a required field and yellow highlights indicate missing information. 

Remember to hit Save/Continue at the bottom of each page. Be sure to click "Submit" as the final step of the process. The registration is not complete until "Submit" is selected. Shortly after the submission of your registration, the information will be reviewed and approved. 

**Online registration can now be completed on a mobile device (phone/tablet). For the best experience, please hold the device horizontally (landscape).

If you do not have a portal account, please contact the helpdesk via email for assistance in creating an account.

Incoming 4K families, if you have already enrolled your child, you have completed your 4K student's registration. If you have additional children who will attend the Appleton Area School District, you will need to complete the registration for those children. You will see your 4K child listed in the student area, please be sure to click on the 4K child record and proceed through the questions as you will be asked to verify the information as you do annually for your older students. Please be sure to answer all questions, including those for your 4K child.

Meal Benefits Application and Payment of Fees

Also available via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal is the ability to complete the Meal Benefits Application and pay school fees. If you feel that your child/ren qualify for free or reduced meals or waived school fees (including those attending CEP schools*), please fill out the Meal Benefits Application. When logging into the Portal, the Meal Benefit Application is also available on the center panel under “Meal Benefits”. To pay fees, please see the instructions by clicking here.

We are asking that all families complete the online registration and online payments as soon as possible. Please see your student’s school website for information on if on-site registration sessions will be held. By bringing a printed copy of your payment receipt to registration, you will be able to proceed quickly through the registration line.

Interpreter services available

Interpreters will be available by appointment to assist with the annual online registration from July 29 – August 9, 2024.

Immunization Information

Per Wisconsin law, students are required to be fully immunized or have a signed waiver on file. The state of Wisconsin requires school districts with less than a 99 percent overall compliance rate in the previous school year to exclude all students who are not in compliance with immunization law (Wis. Stat. sec. 252.04(5)(b)3). There are additional immunization requirements for incoming Kindergarten and grade 7 students. 

If your child has received immunizations from out of state, please provide a hard copy of your student's immunization record to the school office, if you have not already done so. If your child has not yet received the appropriate immunizations, please schedule an appointment with your healthcare provider or the City of Appleton Health Department/Outagamie County Health Department before September.

Depending on grade level, attendance at on-site registration sessions MAY NOT BE REQUIRED, if you have completed your online registration. For questions regarding the on-site registration session(s) held at your child/ren’s school, please see the school website.

Navigating the New Websites

Overall Navigation District and school sites are organized into categories such as academics, programs and services, families, and more. 

Utility Navigation Located at the top of the page, the utility menu includes essential items like enrollment information, careers, lunch menus, our schools menu that links to every school website. These categories will remain at the top of your desktop browser to make navigation efficient.

Footer Links Located at the bottom of each page, the footer contains contact information and other helpful links.

immunizations

On May 20th, 2024, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS 144.01) announced updates to the immunization requirements for children in childcare centers and schools for the 2024-2025 school year.

Key Changes:

  1. Meningococcal Vaccine Requirement: Students entering 7th grade must receive the MenACWY vaccine, and eligible students entering 12th grade need a booster dose. If you are unsure whether your student meets these requirements, please contact your medical provider.

  2. Chickenpox Vaccine Exemption: Newly enrolled students can no longer use a parent's report of chickenpox to claim exemption from the varicella vaccine. A diagnosis from a qualified healthcare provider (M.D., D.O., N.P., or P.A.) is required. Existing exemption options still apply.

  3. Outbreak Definitions Update: The definitions of “substantial outbreak” for childcare centers and schools have been revised to align with CDC definitions, including the addition of chickenpox and meningococcal disease.

If you do not wish to have your child immunized, you must sign a new waiver, available on the bottom half of the immunization form. These forms can be found on the district website (aasd.k12.wi.us), the DHS website, or at the school office.

Once your student has received the required vaccinations, please forward the records to your student’s school office to update their information.
